Phoenix Pen

1 Day Collaboration Project with Phoenix Engineering.

Joey Izzo, a long time friend of mine is the owner and operator of Phoenix Custom Engineering. The last time we crossed paths we set out to do a “make something” as a one day project with no prompt starting at the beginning of the day. We decided on the mundane goal of making a pen using some left over titanium stock and got a little carried away.

I looked at the machinery we had available and drafted up some ideas in CAD to use as a reference point for what we would make. From there Joey would setup the machines to do what we needed. All of it was manually controlled machining with no CNC involved. A case was also designed but that was a little too ambitious to get done all on the same day.
